Maintenance
- Keeping your tower and facilities running at optimal capacity.
- Our inspection team is fully prepared to safely and effectively maintain your
tower or facility to ensure optimal performance. Structures in extreme weather
areas should be inspected annually or after extreme weather occurrences for
loose hardware and to ensure that antenna and transmission line attachments
are secure.
- Our inspection team will perform a light inspection from the ground and then
perform a detailed visual inspection during ascent during the performance of
work; however a planned, detailed, in-depth and all-encompassing inspection
consisting of several hundred points should be performed annually. Fixing an
issue before critical failures is always a less expensive route to take.
- The Telecommunications Industry Association produced the Structural Standard
for Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas (TIA-222- G_the current
revision), which is the minimal basis for our inspections, and outlines a
recommended schedule for tower inspections. While it recommends an
inspection every three years for guyed towers and every five years for self-
supported towers, it is recommended annually for coastal areas that are subject
to corrosive salt air and high winds (see Table 1 below). However, all towers
should be inspected immediately after any exposure to extreme weather events
that may have stressed the structures to their engineered capacities.
